Problem
The UKBA raided a family run restaurant arresting four people on the premises asserting that they were working illegally. The restaurant was faced with a fine of £20,000
Strategy
MAGNE & CO interviewed the owners who confirmed that the family members arrested were preparing a meal, for a sister, whose birthday party preparations had been interrupted by the arrest. MAGNE & CO interviewed everybody on the guest list, and took copies of their diary entries. We obtained photographs of previous family celebrations held at the restaurant.
Solution
The UKBA conceded every single fine, and paid the restaurant's legal costs.
